About us
SUD Polska is the sister company of the French architectural agency SUD Architectes, founded in Lyon in 1986 by Bertrand De Lagarde, Jean Marc Pivôt, and other partners. The Polish subsidiary of SUD Architectes, Sud Architekt Polska sp. z o.o., was established in the late 1990s. At this time SUD Architectes was commissioned to design its first major project in Poland: the MANUFAKTURA project in Łódź. This landmark development (Urban Land Institute & ICSC awards among many others), opened in 2006, marked the beginning of a fruitful collaboration between SUD Architectes and SUD Polska. Following this success, Jocelyn Fillard, Nicolas Roques & Jean-Marc Pivôt decided to establish a fully operational architectural practice in Warsaw. Thus, at the end of 2007, the SUD Polska agency officially opened its doors in Warsaw.
Driven by Jocelyn Fillard and Nicolas Roques, and supported by Jean-Marc Pivôt and the French agency, SUD Polska experienced rapid growth, notably with the landmark victory in the competition for the reconstruction of Katowice railway station in 2009. This project became Poland’s first large-scale, modern multifunctional development, integrating within a single building a railway station, a bus terminal, a large shopping center, and pedestrian public spaces, restoring urban life to the heart of Katowice. Since 2007, SUD Polska has been designing major projects across Poland in the fields of transportation, retail, residential, office, and hospitality, while also expanding internationally with projects in China, Romania, Slovenia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and more recently in France on behalf of Polish clients seeking to develop their projects abroad.
Today, SUD Polska stands as one of Poland’s leading international architectural agencies, with a unique approach shaped by its French roots and strong Polish identity. With its team of architects, urban planners, and interior designers, SUD Polska continues to pursue a demanding yet human-centered vision of architecture, where user well-being, social and environmental responsibility, and attentive listening to clients are the driving forces and inspiration behind each project. In every design, we strive to create meaningful, enjoyable, and responsible spaces so that the architectural objects we build today become stimulating and inspiring places for generations to come.
